Reference Marine International has decades of experience of new build and conversion projects from specification writing, through to plan approval and final execution of the project with our site teams. Our experience spans all major vessel types, from bulk carriers to LNG tankers in shipyards around the world. Drawing on our extensive experience, Reference Marine International has developed a holistic approach to the new build and conversion process, incorporating many disciplines from naval architects to HSSE advisors to ensure that all aspects of your vessel are considered and incorporated from day one.
OUR NEW BUILD AND CONVERSION SERVICES
SPECIFICATION:
As the technical basis of any project, we develop clear and comprehensive specifications. Drawing together our experience in both building and operations, as well as an approach grounded in plain English writing, industry best practices and existing international standards, we develop specifications that integrate with the contract and lay the foundation for a conflict free building and conversion process.
PLAN APPROVAL:
While we develop clear specifications, we also recognise that a well documented and controlled plan approval process is essential. Where plan approval carries on from specification writing, we ensure that the same team will carry on the plan approval in order to provide continuity and project knowledge. For standalone projects, we undertake careful and detailed discussions with the owner to ensure the owner’s concept of the vessel is met.
SITE TEAM AND SUPERVISION:
All the good planning in the world is worthless if it’s not executed well. A top quality site team and site procedures makes the difference between a poorly built ship and a high quality one. With a pool of approved inspectors, all of whom are certified to international standards, we provide the site team you require. Often a substantial part of the site team will have seen the project through from initial design stages to ensure ‘continuity’ that we strive hard to achieve.
